Registration OPEN for the Interactive Civil Society Hearing on UNGA High-level Meeting on TB

Registration for the interactive civil society hearing in preparation for the UN General Assembly high-level meeting on tuberculosis is now open to all organizations which have received special accreditation and to NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC. Please note, the deadline for registration is midnight (New York time) on 22 May. To register, please access the event website here.

Registration process

Each organization that received accreditation or is in consultative status with ECOSOC is allowed to register up to 5 participants.

Once your registration has been reviewed and approved, you will receive a formal confirmation email, which can be used as a supporting document when applying for your US visa, if you require one.

Kindly note that the UN does not provide assistance with visa applications. Please read and follow the instructions on the website carefully.

The registration system normally works best with Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge browsers.

Upon completing the registration form, you will receive an email notification that the registration has been received and will be reviewed. After review and, if application is complete, approval will be provided via an email notification confirming registration, which can be used for visa purposes, if required.

About the interactive civil society hearing

The hearing will take place on 4 June, from 10:00 to 18:00, in Conference Room 1 at the UN Headquarters in New York. Please click here to access the preliminary programme.

The hearing is part of the preparatory process for the UN General Assembly high-level meeting on ending tuberculosis, which will take place on 26 September 2018 in New York. Please note that a separate registration process will be organized for the high-level meeting.

The hearing aims to engage the active participation of "appropriate senior-level representatives of Member States, observers of the General Assembly, parliamentarians, representatives of local government, relevant United Nations entities, non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council, invited civil society organizations, academia, medical associations and the private sector, as well as people affected by tuberculosis and broader communities, ensuring the participation and voices of women, girls and indigenous leadership as part of the preparatory process for the high -level meeting".

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Stop TB Partnership are supporting the President of the General Assembly in the organization of the hearing.
