The Stop TB Partnership's Board meets for the first time after the historic United Nations High-Level Meeting (UN HLM) on TB

24 January 2019, Geneva, Switzerland - The Stop TB Partnership holds its 31st Board Meeting next week in Geneva on 29 and 30 January to review achievements and challenges of the last 12 months and intensify efforts to get the world on track to end TB by 2030.

The Stop TB Partnership and its Board remain determined to increase the pressure on political decision-makers and key stakeholders to ensure world leaders keep promises made at the UNHLM on tuberculosis (TB) to achieve targets outlined in the resulting UN Political Declaration on TB. Access the UNHLM on TB key targets and commitments here.

With grave concerns about the growing gap in global funding needed to develop new tools and approaches to eliminate the disease, the Board will also strategize about a call to action to governments, international agencies, partners and the private sector to step up investments in the TB response, including to honor the upcoming Global Fund replenishment request for at least US$14 billion to help fight HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria. A fully-funded Global Fund would disburse US$850 million for TB annually between 2020 and 2022 and so support efforts to reach targets set at the UNHLM on TB.

Next week’s Stop TB Partnership Board meeting will take place at the newly inaugurated Global Health Campus in Geneva.
