Focus on: Africa, Digital Innovations in Diseases Screening and Innovative Approaches to End TB and Combat AMR

10 May 2024- Geneva. The Stop TB Partnership announces three side events to be held on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, 2024, bringing together ministers of health, country and global leaders, health experts, TB survivors, and other stakeholders in the fight against tuberculosis (TB).

Digital Innovations in TB Screening: Breaking Barriers for Early Detection

Co-hosted with the Department of Health of the Philippines and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, this session will highlight the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence in TB screening processes. This event aims to showcase innovative approaches from various countries and foster partnerships that enhance TB screening and early disease detection globally.


Transforming the Fight Against TB and AMR: From Research to Access

This event will highlight the advancements in TB and AMR research and the transition from research and development into practical access for these innovations. The discussions will focus on leveraging the experience and expertise on drug-resistant TB for effectively addressing AMR. Participants will explore how to bridge gaps between discovery and delivery to improve health outcomes worldwide.

This high-level dinner  event, organised by the Stop TB Partnership and co-hosted with the Permanent Missions of Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, and Tanzania to the United Nations Office in Geneva, will highlight the African continent's advancements and ongoing efforts in the fight against tuberculosis. It will emphasize the vital importance of political engagement and regional collaboration. Through engaging dialogue, participants will exchange best practices, tackle prevalent implementation challenges, and investigate robust financing strategies to expedite the the goal of ending TB by 2030.
