20 June 2016 - Bratislava, Slovakia - The Stop TB Partnership, is pleased to announce the launch of the very first network of people with experience of TB in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region. This network, TB People, was launched at the Regional Workshop on TB Community Mobilization in Bratislava, which the Partnership organized in collaboration with RESULTS UK and TB Europe Coalition and with the support of USAID and the Global Fund.
We share with you a short video taken during this workshop, in which leading TB activists, people with TB experience, the Stop TB Partnership and the Global Fund speak about the critical importance of activism and responses driven by people with experience of TB. In order to shift the paradigm from controlling TB to ending TB, we need to base our work on the needs of people with TB, especially those from the most vulnerable and at-risk groups, and we urgently need investments in community mechanisms: You can watch the video here.
