USAID's report on Public-Private Mix Models for the Sustainability of Successful TB Control Initiatives now available online

01 September 2014 - USAID and World Bank co-hosted a meeting on "Public-Private Mix (PPM) Models for the Sustainability of Successful TB Control Initiatives" from 27-29 May in Washington DC.

The meeting goal was to improve the sustainability of private sector engagement in TB control by bringing together innovations in service delivery models and financing. Various health financing and health delivery models -- including results-based financing, health insurance, conditional cash transfers, line-item budgets from national governments and donors, social franchising, and social businesses -- were examined for their potential to contribute sustainable and scalable private sector engagement for TB control.

After plenary presentations, groups discussed access, administrative structures, packages of interventions, and incentives and financing.

These were followed by discussion groups on the specific national situations in India, Indonesia, Nigeria and the Philippines.
