West and Central Africa workshop on Innovations in TB

28 March, Cotonou, Benin - Working closely with the Stop TB Partnership, the World Health Organization (WHO), Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR), The Union, WARN-TB, and the Damien Foundation, the Global Fund hosted a Workshop to share best practices and lessons learned in TB case finding and TB treatment in Western and Central Africa Region, 26-28 March 2018.

The Stop TB Partnership, represented by members from the teams Countries and Communities Support for Impact, TB REACH and the Global Drug Facility, and in collaboration with country partners, shared experiences in supporting countries to test innovative, community driven, rights-based and gender transformative approaches to diagnose and successfully treat more people for TB.

The regional meeting successfully ended in the joint agreement of the Cotonou Declaration, through which the nearly 100 country representatives and partners reaffirmed their commitment to End TB and for which absolute commitment from Governmgnts and empowerment of the National TB Programmes is required.

The Stop TB Partnership would like to thank and commend the Global Fund and partners for this collaboration. Our collective ability to provide optimal support and platforms for innovation can certainly contribute to the fight to end TB.
