Stop TB World TB Day 2018

WHO Campaigns: TB Day

The theme for 2018 is: "Wanted: Leaders for a TB-free world". It focuses on building commitment to end TB, not only at the political level with Heads of State and Ministers of Health, but at all levels from Mayors, Governors, parliamentarians and community leaders, to people affected with TB, civil society advocates, health workers, doctors or nurses, NGOs and other partners.

Light up for World TB Day 2018

This year, on World TB Day, the Stop TB Partnership is continuing the yearly global initiative "Light up the World for TB". We encourage all our partners to work with authorities in cities across the world and rely on them to light up landmarks in their countries in red on 24 March 2018 to show their commitment towards ending TB.

Watch the video:

This follows on from the success seen last year when the Stop TB Partners and local authorities lit up landmarks in 31 cities in 13 countries. A full list of 2017 landmarks that participated in the initiative can be seen here.

This year we already secured the participation of Geneva, Madrid, Santander, Zamora, Portsmouth and many more to be confirmed in the coming days. We encourage all of you to reach out to your local authorities and motivate them to light up key landmarks in red. Please see a template letter here which you can adapt and send to your local authorities.

Let us know how we can support you further and remember to send us photographs of the landmarks that are lit up! We will certainly promote your achievements through our social media channels.
