Every year, Stop TB Partnership runs a challenge using social media to engage with the stakeholders during the World TB Day commemoration.
This year’s challenge was a Photo Contest that received an overwhelming response, making it a big success among the various awareness activities that took place during the month of March.
Today, the Stop TB Partnership is delighted to announce the winners of the World TB Day 2025 Photo Contest, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about tuberculosis (TB) through the power of visual storytelling.
The photo contest ran from 15-31 March 2025, and invited participants worldwide submitted high-resolution photographs aligned with the campaign's theme: "Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver."
The participants were encouraged to capture images using their phones or cameras, reflecting any of the following themes: Yes We Can End TB, Yes We Can End TB - Commit!, Yes We Can End TB- Invest! and Yes We Can End TB - Deliver!
More than 100 submissions were received, and based on the quality and content of the photos only 69 entries made it to the longlist. A panel of six judges including Stop TB Secretariat staff and 2 independent members had the difficult job of reviewing the submissions based on the following criteria:
- The relevance of the photos with respect to the theme chosen
- The quality of the photos
- The vibe transmitted
10 photos were selected as the winners and each photographer will receive an award and their submissions will be featured in the Stop TB Partnership's official communications.
The winners of the photo contest come from India, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.
In addition, some of the winning entries will be sent further to be showcased in a special exhibition at Fujifilm Square in Tokyo during the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in August 2025,
The Stop TB Partnership extends heartfelt congratulations to all winners and expresses gratitude to every participant who contributed their vision and creativity to this important cause.
