Stop TB Partnership’s TB REACH initiative is a multi-lateral funding mechanism, providing grants to partners for testing innovative approaches and technologies aimed at increasing the number of people diagnosed and treated for TB, decreasing the time to appropriate treatment and improving treatment success rates. It combines fast-track, results-based financing and rigorous, external monitoring and evaluation (M&E), so other donor agencies and/or national governments can scale-up successful approaches and maximize their own investments.

Governing TB REACH

The TB REACH initiative is embedded in a robust and efficient governance structure and interacts with different internal and external stakeholders to help ensure that its program, funded projects and functional operations are effectively and efficiently carried out.

Under the hosting arrangement, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) provides the legal framework for the Stop TB Partnership and thus its TB REACH initiative, accounting for all agreements TB REACH enters into with its grantees and/or other third parties. All operational processes and procedures of the TB REACH initiative are carried out in line with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Stop TB Partnership., which carries the ultimate responsibility for the implementation of TB REACH projects. The TB REACH team (click to Team) is an integral part of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat.

The TB REACH initiative is regularly advised by the Program Steering Group (PSG) of the Stop TB Partnership. The PSG advises on TB REACH’s political and strategic aims and provides general guidance for each call of proposals as well as its overall direction. Further details on the role, composition and meetings can be found here[MF1] .

Another important support structure for TB REACH is the Proposal Review Committee (PRC). This is an independent, impartial group of TB experts who review TB REACH grant applications and make recommendations for funding. PRC is newly composed for each funding Wave while the group remains in regular and close contact throughout its lifecycle.
