A symposium about the development of new TB vaccines, held in Zaragoza, Spain, on 3-4 June. The second day is organized under the Spanish presidency of the EU, with the aim to create more awareness about TB among politicians, and could be or your interest. The first day is a scientific program with renowned speakers from universities and research institutes all over Europe.
 

General information about the symposium

The University of Zaragoza (Spain), together with TuBerculosis Vaccine Initiative (TBVI) and the Spanish FundaciĂłn RamĂłn Areces, organizes an international symposium: 'Research and Development of new Tuberculosis Vaccines'. This symposium will be held on 3 and 4 June in Zaragoza, Spain.

During the symposium, the latest developments in new vaccines for TB will be discussed. The symposium includes the European conference under the Spanish presidency 2010 ‘Research and development of European TB vaccines for the world’.

The event will join European scientists and researchers, world leaders in the field of research of new vaccines against TB, to present and translate to the scientific community and the society their efforts and the results of the latest European scientific research in the most advanced TB vaccines.

 

The two day event starts off Thursday (June 3) with a scientific program in which several renowned scientists present the latest on research on new TB vaccines, clinical trials of TB vaccines and research and development of European TB vaccines for the world. Followed on Friday by the European conference where representatives of Spanish ministries and among others the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Commission and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will speak.
