The 45th Union World Conference on Lung Health will take place from 28 October - 1 November in Barcelona, Spain. The Union Conference is the world’s pre-eminent platform for announcing new scientific research on tuberculosis and other leading lung diseases affecting people living in poverty. The Stop TB Partnership, together with its partners will have a series of events during the week as detailed below. Monday 27 October

9:00 - 6:00 PM: All Day Partners Meeting

Renewing the Fight Against TB: a dialogue on the Stop TB Partnership's overall work streams (morning), followed by deep dive sessions on the Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-2020, global advocacy priorities, and a discussion on the theme for World TB Day 2015. For the agenda, please click here.

6:00 - 8:00 PM: The Human Spirit: Our Hope in the Fight Against Drug Resistant TB

This session will feature the testimony of Dr Thato Mosidi on her fight against XDR-TB, the story of Wena Moelich of working with communities against TB, and a short film, The Human Spirit Project with an introduction by project lead Jonathan Smith. Closing remarks will be made by Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health for South Africa & Chair of the Stop TB Board.

The Symposium includes a session on the Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-2020 with an afternoon keynote address from Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health for South Africa & Chair of the Stop TB Board. The 2014 Kochon Prize will also be presented on the day.
