The Global Plan’s targets are designed to address an unacceptable gap in the provision of TB care. Its targets are inspired by both the UNAIDS 90-90-90 treatment targets and the Communiqué of the 4th Meeting of BRICS Health Ministers in December 2014, which urges the BRICS nations to aspire to three 90% targets for their countries’ TB activities by 2020.
