Aeras wins PR Daily award for ‘Exposed’ film series

14 October 2013 - Rockville, USA - Vaccine developer Aeras has won PR Daily’s Best Cause-Related Video award for its film series EXPOSED: The Race Against Tuberculosis. The series also won an honorable mention in the Best Digital PR Campaign - Nonprofit Sector category.

PR Daily is a news site that delivers news, advice and opinions on the public relations (PR), marketing, social media and media sectors. Its awards recognize the work of PR professionals and corporate communicators working in a variety of industry sectors.

"This award is a great testament to the power of good storytelling," said Kari Stoever, Vice President of External Affairs at Aeras and the Executive Producer of the film. "We face major challenges today creating good and relevant content that captures the attention of individuals in the US and abroad. The EXPOSED film series reached such high global demand that we had it translated into French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. The EXPOSED series remains the top-viewed tuberculosis films on the internet."

EXPOSED was filmed in cities across four countries, and contains interviews with more than 40 people whose lives are touched by tuberculosis (TB). In the first month after its release, the EXPOSED series received more than 80,000 views on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Vimeo.

"The stories of those who’ve survived, who work each day to fight the disease, who are working on new technologies to fight TB... they have gone largely untold," said Mo Scarpelli, Director and Producer of EXPOSED. "That was my biggest motivation for diving into this project; a four-part character-driven series on the race against TB."
