Small Grants, Big Vision - Pushing Local Innovation to End TB
The Stop TB Partnership is pleased to announce the successful grantees under the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) Round 8 selected from across the regions of Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.
Supported by USAID and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Stop TB Partnership launched Round 8 of CFCS in December last year. A total of 387 proposals, to the amount of USD110 million, were received. An independent evaluation committee comprising members from civil society, technical partners and donors selected, among others, diverse projects on strengthening TB and TB/HIV community-based activities, reaching nomadic pastoralist school children, addressing stigma, and reducing barriers to the uptake of services. The total amount awarded under the theme "Communities for Impact" is USD480,000.
CFCS is a unique small grants mechanism that, since 2007 has been directly supporting community and civil society organizations to strengthen community driven and people-centered innovative approaches to fight TB, key elements of the Global Plan and critical for the paradigm shift needed to end TB.
The Stop TB Partnership looks forward to supporting the innovation and creativity of our CFCS partners, as they advance efforts to increase the impact and reach of health services by bringing community actors into full and meaningful partnerships with national programs.
