International Women’s Day

Friday, March 8, 2024 - 06:00
World wide

In a world facing multiple crises that are putting immense pressure on communities, achieving gender equality is more vital than ever. Ensuring women’s and girls’ rights across all aspects of life is the only way to secure prosperous and just economies, and a healthy planet for future generations.

One of the key challenges in achieving gender equality by 2030 is an alarming lack of financing with a staggering USD 360 billion annual deficit in spending on gender-equality measures.

The time for change is now! Join us on 8 March 2024 for International Women’s Day as we rally behind the call to

“Invest in women: Accelerate progress”.

World TB Day 2024
World TB Day 2024

World TB Day 2024

Sunday, March 24, 2024 - 05:00

Join us in marking a pivotal moment in the battle against TB this World TB Day, March 24, 2024. Following the UN High-Level Meeting on TB in September 2023, we've witnessed unprecedented progress: a record 7.5 million diagnoses out of an estimated 10.3 million cases in 2022 - the highest number of people with TB ever diagnosed and treated in a year.

After discussions with partners, we unanimously decided to keep last year’s theme to keep the focus on the amazing work done in 2022. As we continue to celebrate the strides made by High-Burden TB Countries in expanding access to groundbreaking diagnostics, treatments, and technologies, our theme remains unchanged, emphasizing the power of collaboration among those affected by TB, communities, civil society, and innovators in our shared journey towards ending TB by 2030.

Our focus is clear: escalate funding for implementation, accelerate research and development for new tools including vaccines, enhance access to rapid molecular diagnosis and efficient treatments, prioritize TB prevention, address TB in children, and support the vital work in Communities, Rights, and Gender (CRG).

On 24 March 2024, we will need everyone - political leaders, civil society, donors, researchers, TB communities, the private sector, and most importantly, each of us - to take this message one step further by saying what each of us is doing to help End TB, and challenging those in power to do the same.

This World TB Day, we call on everyone—political leaders, civil society, donors, researchers, the TB community, the private sector, and individuals—to declare their actions to fight TB and to challenge others to do the same. Together, we stand united in our mission to end TB and save lives. Our message is powerful and simple: #YesWeCanEndTB.

Let's all pledge to drive forward change, embodying the spirit of 'Yes! We Can End TB!' on this World TB Day and beyond.

YES! WE CAN END TB
