Stop TB Partnership launches: Advocacy and Communications Toolkit for Global and In-country Efforts for a Successful Civil Society Hearing and UN HLM on TB

This Advocacy and Communications Toolkit is designed for use by communities, people affected by TB, activists, partners and stakeholders to support and amplify visibility and awareness about the upcoming Interactive Civil Society (CS) Hearing on TB on June 4 and thus pave the way for an ambitious and successful UN High-Level Meeting (HLM) on TB

The Advocacy and Communications Toolkit is based on the overarching theme defined in the Modalities Resolution for the UN HLM on TB: ‘United to End Tuberculosis: An Urgent Global Response to a Global Epidemic.

Featuring multiple campaign materials, the toolkit proposes simple activities encouraging all partners to join efforts and show to the world that we are united to end TB.

The objective of the Advocacy & Communications campaign is publicity and visibility for the Five Key Asks from the TB stakeholders and Communities to ensure that these asks are included in the political declaration of the UN HLM on TB.

The Toolkit comprise key activities, facts and figures, social media tweet sheets, twitter handles of Heads of State, posters, banners and other campaign materials aimed at providing tools to in-country TB communities, partners, academia, activists and media to help support efforts in creating high visibility for the upcoming CS Hearing and as a lead up to the UN High-Level Meeting in September.

"After a too long silence, it is time to take on a leading role and we must be seen, heard and counted upon. This toolkit supports our joint and wide efforts and we count on everyone to make the best use of it and be visible and loud while demanding the end of TB," said Dr. Lucica Ditiu, Executive Director, Stop TB Partnership.
