Stop TB Partnership hosts a cultural extravaganza and gala dinner in collaboration with WIPO and Permanent Mission of India

On the occasion of the Sixty-Ninth World Health Assembly in Geneva, the Stop TB Partnership in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of India and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), organized a cultural event and gala dinner to "Unite to End TB" on May 21 from 6:30-9:30 PM at WIPO, Chemin des Colombettes 34, Geneva.

The event was a grand success with a turnout of 180-plus guests and the high level attendance of the Minister of Health of South Africa , Ambassadors from 16 countries and heads of multilateral organizations.

The Stop TB Partnership raised awareness on TB among key stakeholders and decision makers in light of the Global Plan to End TB 2016-2020 which provides countries and policymakers with a costed and ambitious roadmap to accelerate impact on the TB epidemic and reach the World Health Organization’s End TB Strategy targets. It also called for the need for the TB community to come together to drive bold action and ambitious change.

Highlights of the evening included Indian and Indonesian dances, two rounds of fashion showcasing traditional costumes from various states in India and modern Indian costumes and a silent auction of attractive prizes.
